Shed the Meds

Shed the Meds pharmaceutical take back events are scheduled twice a year.

Since its inception in 2017, GNWPCD’s Shed the Meds semiannual pharmaceutical take back event has collected several tons of unwanted or expired medications along with tens of thousands of sharps and EpiPens.

The District’s Shed the Meds event is also one of the only places where residents can safely dispose of medical sharps on Long Island, as most local police precincts, healthcare locations and other pharmaceutical take back events do not accept these.

With the success of this program, Great Neck residents look forward to the opportunity to safely dispose of their medications in an environmentally conscious way to keep these toxins out of landfills and Manhasset Bay.

See News Updates for our next scheduled event.
