Step One – Create a Login

Your email address will be your username.

Passwords CANNOT match your email, first name, or last name, and must be at least 8 characters long.

You will receive an email to confirm your account when you successfully submit the form.


Step Two – Check your E-Mail for account verification

Emails can take up to 5 minutes to send.

If you did not receive an email, please make sure your email address matches exactly what you inputted in Step One. Try re-registering if you do not receive an E-Mail within five minutes. If you don’t receive an email, please email permits@gnwpcd.net and our staff will assist you with creating an account.

The email will look like the image below. Click the link in your email!


Step Three – Log In with Username and Password

***Do not continue as a guest! You will not be able to complete any applications!


Step Four – Create Application

Find and select the Create Application button on top of the GNWPCD Permit Portal home page. Select the appropriate application and READ THE APPLICATION HELP PROMPT. You can print the the application requirements and checklist by clicking the link in the prompt.

Once the correct application is selected, click Begin Application. Image reference below.


Step Five – Complete Application

Before you start your application, please make sure you have a site plan, sealed by a Licensed Professional Engineer in pdf format. If you are the homeowner, please have your licensed plumber information handy including their plumber license number. Cases that are incomplete or inactive for more than 30 days are automatically closed.

Section 1: Main

Description: Brief Description of Project.

  • ex. New Connection at 123 Main St, Sewer Availability at 34 Pine St

Project Address: Please fill in with the project address. A suggestions box should appear. You must choose the address from Suggestions… You will not be able to continue the application without a properly formatted address. Use the map on the right side of the page for reference.

If you are completing a New Connection permit application and the project address is outside of the District’s boundary, you will not be able to complete a New Connection application. If your property is not serviced by the Great Neck Water Pollution Control District’s collection system and you are still interested in applying for a New Connection permit, you will have to apply for a Sanitary Sewer Availability Study. A $250 non-refundable fee is associated with this application.

Section 2: Questions 

Required supplemental questions. If you have trouble with a specific question, please hover your mouse over the question mark to the right of the question. Please contact the permits department at permits@gnwpcd.net if you cannot determine a suitable answer.

Section 3: Documents 

This section is for attaching the required site plan. Also, you can attach the road opening permit. Please label you site plans and other submittals shown in the image below.

Section 4: Contacts 

Fill in all required fields. You can save time by clicking ‘Use My Information’ for either Property Owner Information or Licensed Plumber Information.

Ensure the inputted email addresses are accurate as application updates will be sent to both email addresses.

Section 5: Payment 

Use PayPal to complete payment. PayPal Account not Required.

If you do no submit a payment, your application will be placed on hold until payment is received.


Step Six – Paying Deposits

Once your application is submitted, our permitting department will conduct a preliminary review where payment, submittals, and property are verified. If it is determined that additional funds are needed for the project, the applicant will receive an email and the case status will be updated to ‘Additional Deposit For Cost Required’. You can pay for depsosits by clicking on the menu and selecting ‘Pay Deposit’
